Poverty at Its Highest Since 1994, According to U.S. Census Bureau
Following its mid-September tradition, the U.S. Census Bureau today released its annual report
, Income, Poverty, and Health Insurance Coverage in the United States: 2009. Figures indicate the number of people living in poverty has jumped from 13.2 percent to 14.3 percent, the highest rate since 1994. Findings also show that 50.7 million people are still living without health insurance in the United States.
