Project Action, a part of the Corvallis Daytime Drop-in Center, has been around since April 2009. We assist those who are homeless and low-income with working toward health and self-sustainability through information and referral as well as a variety of services including medical and mental health assistance, housing, employment, loans, identification, transportation, phone minutes for work, and other miscellaneous items.

An advocate works with a person who is currently homeless or low-income to work towards that person’s goals. We request that the advocate meet with the participant every week or two to check in, help the participant research how to accomplish goals, and assist the participant in acting on those goals if able and appropriate. Goals revolve around whatever the individual feels will help his or her work towards self-sustainability and bettering his or her life. Our greatest hope is that the advocate will be able to form a relationship with the participant so that the participant feels supported.
